5?J 1 I REGULAR ADJOURNED MEEr ING OF THE CITY COUNC n. OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS HELD ON THE 23RD DAY OF ~Rn, 1963 I Present: Mayor Frank Taylor Aldermen: Wm. L. Moore, M.D. Wm. C. Pool Ruben Ruiz H. Garland Stokes Lee Swift City Manager B.H. Fuller Ci ty Secreta ry Dorothy O. Worrell Guests: Mrs. E.O. Bethke, Sr., Mrs. Lloyd W. Fidler, Mrs. Frank Taylor, Charles A. Zunker, H.Y. Price, Mrs. Jerri Veidt, Tom Buckner, Wray-Weddell, jr. and others. I II Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He asked if there were any delegations or individuals who wished to appear before the Council. Mrs. Lloyd W. Fidler came before the Council on behalf of her mother, Mrs. E.O. Bethke, Sr. concerning some property in the area to be purchased for the City Development Plan for College Expansion. The Mayor explained to Mrs. Fidler and Mrs. Bethke that the acquisition of property came under the jurisdiction of the Local Public Agency, and referred her to the Chairman, Mr. Herman Korff. Mrs. Fidler said she would like to go on record as advising the Council against "letting their employees go around making false statements about when the prop- erty would be acquired". The request of Sociedad Cuauhtemoc came up for discussion. Councilmen were referred to copies of a letter written by Chief of Police Dial in reference to the matter. Alderman Swift moved that the policy which obtained last Summer in regard to granting permits for occasional Sunday dances at Cuauhtemoc Park be followed in 1963. Alderman Pool seconded the motion and on roll call, the"following vote was recorded: AYE: Moore, Pool, Stokes, Swift NAY: None ABSTAINING: Ruiz Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. Alderman Ruiz suggested that three matters on the Agenda - Ordinance appointing a Corporation Court Recordr"Ordinanceappointing a Board of Equalization, and Consideration of' Ross Terry's contract - be discussed at an executive session at the completion of other business. Councilmen agreed by common consent. I Alderman Swift moved the adoption of an Annexation Ordinance. The Ordinance, read in full, was captioned as follows: AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERr AIN TERRITORY ADJOIN ING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MAOCOS INTO SAID CITY OF SAN MARCOS Alderman Stokes seconded the motion for adoption and on roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift NAY: None Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. Mr. Milton Jowers' petition for annexation of property was received by the Council. ~~
