OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS HELD ON THE 23RD DAY OF ~Rn, 1963 <br /> <br />I Present: Mayor Frank Taylor <br /> Aldermen: Wm. L. Moore, M.D. <br /> Wm. C. Pool <br /> Ruben Ruiz <br /> H. Garland Stokes <br /> Lee Swift <br /> City Manager B.H. Fuller <br /> Ci ty Secreta ry Dorothy O. Worrell <br /> Guests: Mrs. E.O. Bethke, Sr., Mrs. Lloyd W. Fidler, <br /> Mrs. Frank Taylor, Charles A. Zunker, <br /> H.Y. Price, Mrs. Jerri Veidt, Tom Buckner, <br /> Wray-Weddell, jr. and others. <br /> <br />I <br />II <br /> <br />Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He asked if <br />there were any delegations or individuals who wished to appear before <br />the Council. Mrs. Lloyd W. Fidler came before the Council on behalf <br />of her mother, Mrs. E.O. Bethke, Sr. concerning some property in the <br />area to be purchased for the City Development Plan for College Expansion. <br />The Mayor explained to Mrs. Fidler and Mrs. Bethke that the acquisition <br />of property came under the jurisdiction of the Local Public Agency, and <br />referred her to the Chairman, Mr. Herman Korff. Mrs. Fidler said she <br />would like to go on record as advising the Council against "letting <br />their employees go around making false statements about when the prop- <br />erty would be acquired". <br /> <br />The request of Sociedad Cuauhtemoc came up for discussion. Councilmen <br />were referred to copies of a letter written by Chief of Police Dial in <br />reference to the matter. Alderman Swift moved that the policy which <br />obtained last Summer in regard to granting permits for occasional <br />Sunday dances at Cuauhtemoc Park be followed in 1963. Alderman Pool <br />seconded the motion and on roll call, the"following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: None <br />ABSTAINING: Ruiz <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz suggested that three matters on the Agenda - Ordinance <br />appointing a Corporation Court Recordr"Ordinanceappointing a Board <br />of Equalization, and Consideration of' Ross Terry's contract - <br />be discussed at an executive session at the completion of other business. <br />Councilmen agreed by common consent. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved the adoption of an Annexation Ordinance. The <br />Ordinance, read in full, was captioned as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERr AIN TERRITORY ADJOIN ING <br />THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MAOCOS INTO <br />SAID CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes seconded the motion for adoption and on roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Milton Jowers' petition for annexation of property was received <br />by the Council. <br /> <br />~~ <br />
