<br />11& <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />& ~ .., <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CllY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, INTO SAID CITY OF SAN MARCOS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owner of iwo (2) strips of land, said strips of land not <br />exceeding one half (l/2) mile in width, being contiguous and adjacent to the <br />present boundary line of the City of San Marcos, and further being vacant <br />and without residents, has petitioned the City of San Marcas to annex said <br />strip; of land within its municipal limits, a copy of said petition being hereto <br />attached, ma:rked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos to <br />annex said strips of land within its municipal limits; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City <br />of San Marcos that the said iwo (2) strips of land, hereinafter described by metes <br />and bounds, be and the same is hereby received as a part of the City of San <br />Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts ond ordinances of said City in accordance <br />with law. <br /> <br />SAID TWO (2) STRIPS OF LAND are described by metes and bounds as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Number <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a point in the present North City Limits of 'San Marcos, <br />Texas, where said present North City Limits Line intersects the East right- <br />of-way line of Interstate Highway 35, said point of beginning also bears <br />North 610 07' 30" West, a distance of approximately 107 feet from the East <br />corner of Lot No. 40, Block No. 1 of the Fairlawn 'Subdivision; and, <br /> <br />THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction, with said East right-of-way line <br />of Interstate Highway 35, along a curve of 11,649.2 foot radius, an arc <br />\ distance of 2391.6 feet to the proposed North City Limits Line of said <br />City of San Marcos,; and, <br /> <br />THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction, with said North City Limits <br />Line, crossing the right-of-way of the aforementioned Interstate Highway <br />35 at reference line survey station 760+66.8 thereof, a total distance of <br />388.4 feet to a point in the West right-of-way line of said Interstate <br />Highway 35, said point also being the most Easterly corner of the Cone <br />Mills Corporation Tract of Land; and, <br /> <br />THENCE, S. 26023' 36" West, along said West right-of-way line, <br />along a curve of 17,068.7 foot radius, an arc distance of 1782.2 feet <br />to a point in the present North City Limits line; and, <br /> <br />THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction, along said present City Limits <br />Line, crossing the right-of-way of Interstate Highway 35 at reference line <br />survey station 784+19.4 thereof, a distance of 400.0 feet to the POINT <br />OF BEGINNING. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Number 2 <br /> <br />The area of land herein annexed being described as a strip of land <br />300.0 feet wide, 150.0 each side of and parallel to the reference line <br />of Interstate Highway 35, said reference line being more particularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a point on the aforementioned reference line, at <br />survey station 1017+46 thereof, said point of beginning being the present <br /> <br /> <br />/~~ <br />
