Raymond Wilson, pastor of First Methodist Church, gave the <br />Invocation. <br /> <br />Vance Winn, President of the Jaycees, appeared before the Council to <br />protest the fees being charged for use of the City Park ball fields. <br />Mayor Taylor read a letter from Dr. Jean Smith, chairman of the Recreation <br />Council, in which a schedule of charges for park facilities was recommended. <br />The letter is attached as a part of these Minutes. Alderman Swift moved <br />the adoption of the recommendations, with the following amendments: <br />"2 a. Night baseball games - $10; practice baseball games - $7; <br />Softball - no fee. 2b. beposit for reservation of field - $5, <br />not refundable, except when game is 'rained out" ". <br />Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnny Arredondo appeared before the Council to request that the City <br />lay a water line to St. John's ball field. Alderman Stokes moved that the <br />Council take the request under advisement. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Vance Winn came before the Council to enquire when the paving on <br />Schulle Drive would be completed. The City I~nager said the work should <br />be completed on schedule - about the 30th of June. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the previous meetings were presented for approval. <br />Alderman Ruiz questioned the record of vote, line 7, page 2 of the <br />April 9 Minutes. Alderman Moore confirmed that he had abstained from <br />voting on the motion, as written in the Minutes. <br /> <br />H~:S ~ <br />
