r-- ~)~ regular meeting, may 14, 1963 page two Alderman Ruiz moved that parlimentary procedure be followed in the conduct of City Council meetings. Alderman Swift offered an amendment to the motion, stating that Roberts Rules of Order be adopted as the authority for parlimentary procedure. Alderman Ruiz accepted the amendment. Alderman Swift seconded the motion as amended. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Ruiz, Stokes, Swift NAY: Moore, Pool Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. I Alderman Swift called attention to three errors, contested the wording of two motions, and requested the deletion of two sentences in the April Minutes. On page 2 of the April 9 Minutes, item of business, "designation of personnel authorized to sign vouchers", the section should be corrected to read: "Alderman Moore moved that the same policy as in the past be followed, with the City Manager signing all checks, and the Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem or the Treasurer counter-signing". The last sentence at the bottom of page 2, April 9 Minutes, should be corrected to read: "At the conclusion of Item 1, Mayor Taylor..." The first line of the last paragraph, page 3 of the April 9 Minutes should be corrected to read; "At 6:15 p.m., Alderman Ruiz moved that the meeting adjourn to reconvene at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 16." Alderman Swift~ questioned the wording of Alderman Stokes' motion, paragraph 5, page 1, April 16 M~inutes. Alderman Stokes said he would accept the wording of his motion as written. I Alderman Swift questioned the wording of his motion, paragraph 5, page two, April 23 Minutes. The City Secretary referred Alderman Swift to the notes taken at the April 23 meeting, and it waS agreed to let the wording stand as written. Alderman Swift moved that the following passage be deleted from paragraph 7, page 2, April 16 Minutes: "Inasmuch as many of the items were already budgeted, some of the projects mentioned already underway, and others impossible to achieve at once for financial or other reasons..~'" Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Alderman Swift moved that the following sentence be deleted from Item 12, page 3, April 16 Minutes: "It was brought out that City personnel would have a very heavy work load preparing for the codifiers, a task which might take longer than 60 days." Alderman Ruil seconded the motion.
