Alderman Swift offered <br />an amendment to the motion, stating that Roberts Rules of Order <br />be adopted as the authority for parlimentary procedure. Alderman <br />Ruiz accepted the amendment. Alderman Swift seconded the motion <br />as amended. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: Moore, Pool <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift called attention to three errors, contested the <br />wording of two motions, and requested the deletion of two sentences <br />in the April Minutes. On page 2 of the April 9 Minutes, item of <br />business, "designation of personnel authorized to sign vouchers", <br />the section should be corrected to read: <br /> <br />"Alderman Moore moved that the same policy as in the past <br />be followed, with the City Manager signing all checks, and <br />the Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem or the Treasurer counter-signing". <br /> <br />The last sentence at the bottom of page 2, April 9 Minutes, <br />should be corrected to read: <br /> <br />"At the conclusion of Item 1, Mayor Taylor..." <br /> <br />The first line of the last paragraph, page 3 of the April 9 Minutes <br />should be corrected to read; <br /> <br />"At 6:15 p.m., Alderman Ruiz moved that the meeting adjourn <br />to reconvene at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 16." <br /> <br />Alderman Swift~ questioned the wording of Alderman Stokes' motion, <br />paragraph 5, page 1, April 16 M~inutes. Alderman Stokes said he <br />would accept the wording of his motion as written. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift questioned the wording of his motion, paragraph 5, <br />page two, April 23 Minutes. The City Secretary referred Alderman <br />Swift to the notes taken at the April 23 meeting, and it waS agreed <br />to let the wording stand as written. <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the following passage be deleted from <br />paragraph 7, page 2, April 16 Minutes: <br /> <br />"Inasmuch as many of the items were already budgeted, <br />some of the projects mentioned already underway, and <br />others impossible to achieve at once for financial or <br />other reasons..~'" <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the following sentence be deleted from <br />Item 12, page 3, April 16 Minutes: <br /> <br />"It was brought out that City personnel would have a very <br />heavy work load preparing for the codifiers, a task which <br />might take longer than 60 days." <br /> <br />Alderman Ruil seconded the motion.
