Alderman Ruiz <br />seCOf1ded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The ayor reminded those present that the Public Hearing on the Budget <br />waset for May 21, and invited comments or questions from the visitors. <br />Ther, being none, the Budget was opened for discussion by the Council. <br />Alderman Stokes commended the City Manager for the thoroughness and <br />excetlence of the budget preparation, and for the new system of classi- <br />fica~ion. He moved the adoption of the City Budget as presented by the <br />City Manager. Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion. On roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />Jim Banister, Mrs. Charles Ramsay, Bob and Helen <br />Van Gundy, James Tuttle, F.M. Mauldin, Mrs. J. <br />Lloyd Read, Mrs. Dudley Johnson, Mrs. Malcolm <br />Sherrill, Mrs. Tom Oliver, Mrs. J.R. Thornton, <br />Mrs. Joe Holleran, Joyce Porter, Charles Porter, <br />Albert Holguin, Tom Buckner, Jerri Veidt, <br />Tony Proffitt and others <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />~lhereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried and the 1963-1964 <br />Budget approved. <br /> <br />Alderman Moore moved the adoption of an ordinance setting the tax rate. <br />Caption of the Ordinance, which was read in full, is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPOFIT OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENI OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND <br />TO PROVIDE A SINKrnG FUND FOR THE RET IREMENT OF THE BONDED <br />DEBT OF SAID CITY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman stokes seconded the motion of adoption, and on roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon the Mayor declared the Ordinance <br /> <br />Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />....." ~.(' J <br />("(J;-2...o1l111111 <br />
