Carl Schoss, <br />pastor of the American Lutheran Church, gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the preVious meetings were approved as presented. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing. on the proposed Zoning Ordinance. <br />The Ordinance, as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission, <br />was read in full. Questions and comments were invited from the visitors; <br />a discussion of non-conforming use and other sections. of the Ordinance <br />followed. The Mayor and Aldermen answered questions and cla~fied <br />points brought up. <br /> <br />Following~ the Hearing, Alderman 3Nift moved the adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance. Alderman Pool seconded the motion. Alderman stokes <br />offered an amendment to strike the phrase "..., including sale or lease,..." <br />from lines 4 & 5 of paragraph 2, Section 17, "Non-conforming Uses". The <br />amendment was accepted by Aldermen Swift and Pool. Alderman SWift amended <br />his motion to add a clause in Section 18, "Board of Adjustment", following <br />line 3 of paragraph 11 "...; the .Board shall elect one of its members to <br />act as chairman". Alderman Swift called attention to a minor error in <br />coloring a small section of the zoning Map which is a part of the Ordinance. <br />The City Manager said it would be corrected before printing. On roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYEl Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY I None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Zoning Ordinance Passed, Approved <br />and Adopted. <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes commended the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />excellent work in preparing the Zoning Ordinance for San Marcos, and <br />suggested that the City Manager prepare a Resolution to that effect <br />for future passage by the Council. <br /> <br />Alderman Pool welcomed members of a Speech class at swrsc, visitors <br />to the Council Meeting. <br /> <br />~ <br />--- <br />- <br />I~ <br />~ <br />I." <br /> <br />otE <br />
