McAdams and others <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor introduced Mr. and Mrs. E.E. McAdams of Austin to members of <br />the Council. Mr. McAdams, who had submitted a bid to codify the <br />ordinances of the City of San Marcos, explained what codification would <br />involve as to preparation and use of City personnel. He displayed an <br />ordinance book compiled for a city of the approximate size of San Marcos. <br />After a thorough discussion of the matter, Alderman Stokes moved that <br />the Council authorize the Mayor to enter into a cpntract with Mr. McAdams <br />for the codification of the City's ordinances. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />v <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. S.V. Bingham appeared before the Council to report that methods <br />used to control the odor from the Lift Station near her home were not <br />effective. The Council instructed the City Manager to inve?tigate the <br />feasibility of using a flume on the Lift station, and to run a cost <br />estimate. <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes introduced an ordinance and moved its adoption. <br />Caption of the ordinance, which was read in full, is as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC UPON PORrImS OF <br />U.S. AND Sf ATE HIGHWAYS LYING WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS THROUGH THE ESTABlISHMENT OF CERfAIN <br />MAXIMUM SPEEDS FOR PARrICULAR SECT IONS OF SAID HIGHWAYS; <br />ENUMERATING THE HIGHWAYS AND SECTTOOS THEREOF WITH MAXIMUM <br />SPEEDS; FIXING PENAlTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISlOOS <br />OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEAlING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARI'S OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERElIITH; AND <br />ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion for adoption, and on roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />Ul <br />:::: <br />;.... <br />~ <br />(;.\f <br /> <br />tHf, <br />
