<br />7, <br />j <br /> <br />~. <br />~. <br /> <br />I (,"; '7 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's long-range traffic plan envisions the <br />construction of a bridge over the San Marcos River, providing <br />a direct route from Interstate 35, Highway 80, and other major <br />traffic arteries into the Square, connecting with RM 12 to <br />Blanco, Stonewall, Canyon Reservoir, El Paso and the west; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the construction of this vital traffic improvement has <br />been delayed because of the City's inability to finance the <br />project from its operating budget; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on the 20th day of November, 1963, a delegation from <br />the City Council, the City Manager acting as spokesman, appeared <br />before and solicited the aid of the Highway CommiSSion of the <br />State of Texas in the completion of this thoroughfare; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos is convinced, <br />had it not been for the able and complete presentation made by the <br />City Manager of the City's need, favorable consideration would not <br />have been received from the Highway Commission, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City <br />of San Marcos, in meeting assembled, that CITY MANAGER B.R. FULLER <br />be and hereby is commended for his presentation of the traffic <br />problem and his suggested solution, which was accepted by the <br />Texas Highway Commission, with a resultant savings in excess of <br />$265,000 to the tax-payers of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be presented <br />to City Manager B.R.
