<br />special meeting, december 20, 1963, page two <br /> <br />{,\, <br />\ ' <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz introduced a Resolution commending the City Manager <br />for his presentation, November 20, of a request to the State <br />Highway Commission for a direct route from Interstate 35 and <br />Highway 80 into the Square, connecting with ~\ 12. Alderman Pool <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Resolution <br />is attached as a part of these Minutes. <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz informed the Council that Representative Henry B. <br />Gonzalez had telephoned him from Washington about a new education <br />bill passed by the Congress. It provides~for five pilot plants I <br />to be located throughout the country; they will be area residential <br />training schools; students may be paid a small stipend. Representative <br />Gonzalez suggested that Camp Gary might be utilized in this way, and <br />offered to help in any way he could. Representative Gonzalez said <br />he might be able to meet with the Council while he is in San Antonio <br />during the Christmas Holidays.
