Wilson, Mayor Sam Glosserman of
Lockhart, Rennart Ahlberg, Herbert Holcombe

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7;30 p.m. and welcomed the
visitors, and members of the Citizens Committee for Camp Gary, introducing
the ex-officio members by name.

Mayor Taylor, as Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Citizens Committee
for Camp Gary, briefly reviewed the events leading up to the City's efforts
to secure Camp Gary for a beneficial community use. The more recent develop-
ments were given in greater detail. The Mayor read a letter from the Texas
Education Agency, asking that City Manager B.R. Fuller, Coordinator for the
Camp Gary Project, be permitted to serve as Consultant to the Texas Education
Agency in the initial survey for the feasibility and use study and the planning
program. Mr. Fuller reported on the current work of the team, begun that
morning with a conference in Austin and a tour of Camp Gary in the afternoon.
The City Manager will continue to work with the team and TEA.

A question and answer period followed, with general discussion on the proposed
uses of Camp Gary.

.On suggestion of Alderman Ruiz, the Mayor declared a five-minute recess, in
order that Councilmen could talk informally with ex-officio members of the
Camp Gary Committee from out of town.

Upon resumption of the meeting, the Mayor proposed the name of 3.M. Slins
as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission to fill the unexpired
term of Dr. William H. Crook, resigned. Alderman Pool moved that Mr. J.M. Sims
be appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission to fill the unexpired term
of Dr. Crook. Alderman Moore seconded the motion and on roll call, the
following vote was recorded;

AYE; Moore, Pool, Ruiz
NAY; None

Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried and Mr. Sims appointed.

Alderman Pool introduced an Ordinance receiving certain property (identified
as the Milligan Estate property on 1-35) into the City Limits, and moved its
adoption. The Ordinance, which was read in full, is attached and made a part

OOE
