Wilson, Mayor Sam Glosserman of <br />Lockhart, Rennart Ahlberg, Herbert Holcombe <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7;30 p.m. and welcomed the <br />visitors, and members of the Citizens Committee for Camp Gary, introducing <br />the ex-officio members by name. <br /> <br />Mayor Taylor, as Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Citizens Committee <br />for Camp Gary, briefly reviewed the events leading up to the City's efforts <br />to secure Camp Gary for a beneficial community use. The more recent develop- <br />ments were given in greater detail. The Mayor read a letter from the Texas <br />Education Agency, asking that City Manager B.R. Fuller, Coordinator for the <br />Camp Gary Project, be permitted to serve as Consultant to the Texas Education <br />Agency in the initial survey for the feasibility and use study and the planning <br />program. Mr. Fuller reported on the current work of the team, begun that <br />morning with a conference in Austin and a tour of Camp Gary in the afternoon. <br />The City Manager will continue to work with the team and TEA. <br /> <br />A question and answer period followed, with general discussion on the proposed <br />uses of Camp Gary. <br /> <br />.On suggestion of Alderman Ruiz, the Mayor declared a five-minute recess, in <br />order that Councilmen could talk informally with ex-officio members of the <br />Camp Gary Committee from out of town. <br /> <br />Upon resumption of the meeting, the Mayor proposed the name of 3.M. Slins <br />as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission to fill the unexpired <br />term of Dr. William H. Crook, resigned. Alderman Pool moved that Mr. J.M. Sims <br />be appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission to fill the unexpired term <br />of Dr. Crook. Alderman Moore seconded the motion and on roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded; <br /> <br />AYE; Moore, Pool, Ruiz <br />NAY; None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried and Mr. Sims appointed. <br /> <br />Alderman Pool introduced an Ordinance receiving certain property (identified <br />as the Milligan Estate property on 1-35) into the City Limits, and moved its <br />adoption. The Ordinance, which was read in full, is attached and made a part <br /> <br />OOE <br />
