,}~~ adjourned meeting & budget hearing, july 27, 1964 page two The Mayor opened the meeting for the Budget Hearing by stating, "The life of a community is in its budget... we have studied the proposed budget for 1964-1965 and we feel it is an operable, workable budget that we can live with. N The Mayor asked if there were any comments from visitors or from Counci Imen. Alderman Tuttle stated that. since he had been out of the City, he had not had time to gi0e the budget as much study as other Councilmen. The kayor discussed several points with Mr. Tuttle. Certain correct ions from the or i g i na I draft Ivere noted. A I derman Pool moved the adoption of the 1964-1965 Budget as present- ed by the City Manager, with the referenced changes. Alderman Tuttle seconded the motion and on roll cal" the fol lowing vote was recorded: I AYE; I\JAY; P901, Ruiz, Serur, Tuttle, \Jhittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried and the 1964~1965 Budget adopted. The Mayor ,introduced an ordi nance sett i ng the tax rate at $2 for each One Hundred Dollars of valuation of property. The Counci I received the j(eport of the Board or Equal ization, attached herewith as a part of the Minutes. Alderman Ruiz moved its approval. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion, and on roll call, the following vbte was recorded: AYE: NAY: Pool, Ruiz, Serur, Tuttle, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried and the Rep6rt of the 86ard of Equalization approved. The Counci I received from the Tax Assessor-Collector a list of items to be added or deleted from the 1963 Ta~ Rol I. The list, UAdjustments to the 1963 Tax RoIIH, attached herewith as a part of the Minutes, was examined and discussed by Counci Imen. Alderman Serur moved its approval.
