The City Manager replied in the affirmative. <br />The Counci I discussed the need for requiring businesses using <br />large quantities of water, such as service stations, to put up <br />an adequate depos it, The Mayor stated there were instances where <br />the City was out large bills that could not be collected; an <br />adequate deposit would lower the loss to the City. Alderman <br />Ruiz asked if the City were required to pay jnterest on deposits <br />and the City Manager answered in the negative. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor informed the Council that the terms of three of-tl-e <br />Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of San Marcos <br />would expire on August 8. The Mayor asked the approval of the <br />Counci I for the reappointment of three long-time Commissioners: <br />Jack Harper, Herbert Eastwood and A II en Woods. The Cert if i cate <br />of Appointment is attached herewith as a part of the Minutes. <br />Alderman Tuttle stated he would like to give more thought to <br />the appointments. Alderman Serur asked about the duties of the <br />Commissioners. The City Manager explained that they establish <br />pol icy, approve the budget, approve semi-annual reports, set the <br />rents, and perform such other duties as are required by the Local <br />Housing Authority.
