MITCHELL <br />ADDjTION AND BLOCKS 2 AND 3 OF THE ENOCH MOORE ADD- <br />ITION. GIVING AND GRANTING UNTO THE STATE OF TEXAS <br />THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO PHYSICALLY CLOSE SAID <br />PORTION OF SAID STREET FOREVER; AUTHORIZING THE CON- <br />VEYANCE OF ALL OF THE RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN AND TO THE CLOSED AND VA- <br />CATED PORTION OF SAID STREET UNTO THE STATE OF TEXAS <br />FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE COLLEGE <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded,the motion and on roll cal" <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Pool, Ruiz, Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager reported on the property to be bought <br />as right-of-way for the extension of RM j2 in San Marcos. <br />He asked the Council to grant the Mayor blanket authority <br />to purchase the right-of-way. He said he had established <br />as a fair price for the property a figure between $1100 <br />and $1200 an acre. Mr. Fuller showed the Counci I a right- <br />of-way map prepared by the State Highway Department show- <br />ing parcels of land needed for the right-of-way. Alderman <br />Pool moved that Mayor Taylor be given blanket authority to <br />purchase the needed right-of-way at the base price of $1200 <br />an acre. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE; Pool, Rui~, Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from James Sterling in which <br />he requested the withdrawal of an appeal to the Council I <br />from a ruling by the Planningand Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />The Mayor acknowledged receipt of a petition from a number <br />of residents of Blanco Road and adjacent area, requesting <br />that they be given service from the proposed sewer line to <br />the new school in Oak Heights. The petition is attached <br />as a part of the Minutes. Tom Buckner and George Cathey <br />were spokesmen for the petitioners.
