It <br />wil I be about 5 - 6 weeks before delivery can be made. <br />The Plymouth, now being driven by the Assistant City Man- <br />ager be given to the Chief Inspector. <br />The car beingdriven by the Chief Inspector (old Fire Chief's <br />car) be given to the Shop so they., can put a bed in the back <br />for a repair truck. <br />The two Police vehicles (1961 Dodge and 1963 Rambler) be <br />traded On the new po lice veh i c les. <br />The old 1961 Dodge and the 1958 Plymouth be sold on bid. <br />The Brush Chipper be returned. The Sanitation Department <br />reports that it is not economical to operate. <br />Request bids on a truck cab and chassis (2 ton) for the <br />Garbage Dept. <br /> <br />Counci Imen suggested that the City Manager reconsider returning <br />the brush chipper. Alderman Serur moved that all other requests <br />as stated above should be approved. Alderman Ruiz seconded the <br />motion, and On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Ruiz, Serur, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried, and the requests as stated <br />above granted, with the exception of the return of the brush chipper. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Mrs. Hazel Duncan, District Clerk, from the <br />floor. She stated there were some seventy-five tax suits pending <br />which had been filed by Brooks Holman, acting in his capacity of <br />Tax Attorney for the City. She stated that some had the wrong <br />legal description, or other matters that would require they be <br />amended or re-filed. She asked if it were the pleasure of the <br />Council that the suits be dismissed and re-filed; or if other <br />disposition were contemplated, that she be instructed by the <br />Counci I. After discussion, it was the decision of the Counci I <br />that City Attorney Albert Walker, Tax Assessor-Collector George <br />Reed and Mrs. Duncan go over the suits and determine their status. <br /> <br />Don Uzzell was recognized from the floor by the Mayor. He report- <br />ed that cars parked illegally on Academy Street were not being <br />ticketed. He said he felt the Hno parkingH regulation should be <br />rigidly enforced. Mr. Uzzell stated he had investigated and found <br />that there were a great many tickets which had not been paid. He <br />estimated that 60 % of the tickets given for non-moving violations <br />remained uncollected. He was asked: HMr. Uzzell, are you saying <br />that someone is putting money in their pockets? H He answered <br />that he did not mean to imply that this was true, but that no act- <br />ive effort was made to collect parking tickets. It was requested <br />that the matter be investigated and a report given to the Council. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the Council went into Executive <br />Session. The matter of a suggested contract with the City with <br />City Manager Fuller to act as City Manager-Planner was discussed. <br />No action was taken, the Counci I feeling that time was needed for <br />further study. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ff~ <br />
