In order to reach a better understanding of the <br />School's needsj he enquired if the School had determined what <br />size line would be required. Mr. Granger, architect for the <br />school, reported that it would require a 6" line. A general <br />discussion ensued. Mr. Granger and City Manager Fuller were <br />.excused from the meet i ng to make an est'i'mate of the cost. Mr. <br />Mendez asked if the City were not going to serve pther areas <br />as B result 6f the installation of the line to the school site. <br />The Mayor eXplained that there were several areas requiring sew- <br />er lines included in the 5-Year Program. As a result of the loc- I <br />ation of the school site, it appeared the City would have to place <br />priority on the Cedar Plateau area. This would take a considerable <br />amount of the funds budgeted for the new sewer construction for the <br />current fiscal year. Alderman Whittenberg said he thought the offer <br />to th~School was very fair. Dr. Martin concurred, but consulted <br />the five Board members present,' who also agreed that the proposit- <br />ion was fair. <br /> <br />Dy<!.iiVCL(VC</ <br />Aw~etition to annex property in OakH~ights was introduced. <br />Alderman Serur moved that the ~'t~1~'Q'i{ be tabled, since all Counc- <br />ilmen were not present. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion. <br />During the discussion, Alderman Whittenberg raised the question of <br />whether, should the property be annexed, the City would be committed <br />io giving priority to work in the ~ewly annexed area. The City II <br />Manager replied that it did~ and that there was also a state law <br />governing the use of bicycles. Mr. Ruiz requested a copy of the <br />City Bicycle Ordinance. <br /> <br />Alderman Ruiz requested an exetutive session of the Counci I at <br />the conclusion of matters on the agenda, to discuss a personnel <br />matter. Councilmen agreed. <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg said he had received a complaint that a <br />cypress tree on Lindsey Street below Academy Street was blocking <br />the sidewalk. The matter was referred to the City Manager. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported a request from the County Judge for use <br />of F.i're Stat i on # 3 as a po II i ng p I ace for an add i t i ona I vot i ng <br />precinct. It was explained that the "Court House Precinct" now <br />has 1100 voters, and it has been divided. Alderman Ruiz stated <br />he had no objection to the County's use of the Fire Station, but <br />he did not agree with the way the precinct was divided. Alderman <br />Whittenberg moved that the Commissioners Court be granted the use. <br />of Fire Station # 3 as a polling pl.ce.
