McCrocklin, <br />Mrs. Jerri Veidt, Walter Buckner, Charles W. <br />Robinson, Don R. Uzzel I, Wi II Burnett & others <br /> <br />The Mayor cal led the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />The Rev. Leroy Russell, pastor of First Methodist Church, <br />gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor welcomed to the meeting Dr. James H. McCrocklin, <br />President of Southwest Texas State College. <br /> <br />Minutes of the meetings held on August 10, August 24 and <br />August 31, 1964, were approved as presented, On motion of <br />Alderman Ruiz and second of Alderman Serur. <br /> <br />Don Uzzell appeared before the Council to complain that "no <br />parking" regulations on Academy Street were not being properly <br />enforced by the Police Department. He was questioned by the <br />Council, and his complaints were discussed. Alderman Pool sug- <br />gested that the Council take one whole evening to review the <br />parking regulations on Academy Street in an effort to settle the <br />problems once and for all. <br /> <br />The Mayor i ntreduced the tabu I at ion of bids rece'j'ved on a cab <br />and chassis for the garbage truck. The specifications were <br />discussed, and the four bids compared. Alderman Tuttle moved <br />that the low bid of $2,595.00 made by Allen Motor Co. be accept- <br />ed. Alderman Pool secanded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the matter of a request for a'permit to <br />operate billiard tables which had been rec'ived from Lloyd Kyle <br />some months previously. He eXplained that there had been a de- <br />lay jn answering Mr. Kyle because a billiards ordinance was und- <br />er consideration. The matter was thoroughly discussed. Alder- <br />man Serur moved that the applicant be giv~n a permit to operate <br />a bi liard table, provided he agree to comply with the billiards <br />ordinance when passed. Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The Mayor instructed Mr. Fuller to give Mr. <br />Kyle copies of the two ordinances now under study by the Council, <br />when he is notified about the permit, so that he would understand <br />what the requirements and restrictions would be when a billiards <br />ordinance is passed. <br /> <br />::c <br />:t: <br />;;... <br />- <br />--- <br />'" <br /> <br />8HZ <br />
