Approval was given by com- <br />mon consent to the Mayor's appointment of Mrs. Ruth Manske <br />as UN Ch~irman for San Marcos. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance for Annexation of prop~ <br />erty in the Z. Williamson Third Addition. a petition having <br />been received by the Counci I on July 27, 1964. II plat of <br />the property w~s examined, and the matter of providing I <br />service to the ~nnexed property discussed. Alderman Serur <br />moved that lots 207 thru 212; lots 243 thru 248; and streets <br />~djacent to the lots; of the Z. Wi II iamson Third Addition <br />be annexed to the City, provided that no priority be given <br />as to City services untiJ such time as they m~y be ~v~i lable. <br />Alderm~n Pool seconded the motion, and on 1"01 I call, the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Pool, Ruiz, Serur, Tuttle <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance P~ssed, Approved ~nd Adopted. <br /> <br />In I~em 2 of an Addendum to the City Manager Items, Mr. Fuller <br />informed the Council that the Fire Department is now eligible <br />to be covered by Social Security. The City Manager explained <br />the procedure necessary to put the program in effect, ~nd <br />recommended th~t the firemen be pl~ced under Social Security. <br />The matter was thoroughly discussed. Alderm~n Pool moved <br />th~t the City M~nager take the necessary steps to put the <br />Fire Dep~rtment under Soci~1 Secur+ty. Alderman Serur second- I <br />ed the motion, and on 1"01 I cal I, the following vote w~s recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Pool, Ruiz, Serur, Tuttle <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The M~yor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Ru;z called attention to the City's Bicycle Ordinance, <br />passed in 1905. He stated he thought it should be revised. <br />The City Man~ger s~id a new one should be prepared. The Mayor <br />directed Mr. Fuller to turn the marter pver to the Traffic <br />Commisiion for study. <br /> <br />Judge Wi I I Burnett ~ppe~red before the Counci I to enquire <br />about purchasing a sub-standard house belonging to the City. <br />He stated he would move,' it out of the City to a I~ke on his <br />ranch.
