spec I a I meet i ng, sept. 23, 1964, page three

~Il

Mrs. Veldt was recognized. She reminded the Counci I
that she had called to its attention early in the year
the need for new furniture at the Recreation Hall. She
expressed the hope that new furniture could be purchased
before the next visit to San Marcos of the Wally Byam
Caravan Club.

I

Don Uzzell was recognized from the floor. He asked the
Council to make a ruling on a point of law concerning
fi ling complaints in Corporation Court. The Mayor re-
minded him of the request that complaints about parking
on Academy Street be kept in abeyance until the October
Council meeting. Mr. Uzzell persisted in his point. The
Mayor told him if he had any accusations to make against
the Corporation Judge, to put them in writing, with specif-
ic information. Alderman Whittenberg stated that the dis-
sension over parking on Academy Street had taken about 25%
of the Police Department's time, and it could have been
better spent in patrolling other areas. Mr. Uzzell ad-
mitted that, to his knowledge, there had not been a traf-
fic accident on Academy Street since 1948. The Mayor stat-
ed it was not right for one person to harass the Council as
Mr. Uzzel I had done the past months, and that they were going
to do everything possible to stop it.

The meeting adjourned at 9:24 p.m.

I

{." ," /'f:/
c f~~"\~:C:{;:7'~(/

Mayor

if~ 12-.20

Wi I I i am C.
