Included in the motion wa~ an alternate choice: in the event th~t the dealer would not give $500 on the trade~in, the City Manager ~as authorized to buy a Custom Ford, as bid. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the ~otion, which passed unanimously. After discuss ion, it was agreed that the Traff i c Commission should be asked to m~ke a study of the signal lights. On motion of Alderman Ruiz, ~nd seco~d of Alderman Pool, the Council unanimously voted to receive a petition from Mr. and Mrs. 0.8. Thomas to annex ~our lots and two acres of land northeast of North Austin Street. The ordinances regulating billiard tables which had been d i str i buted for study were discussed. I t was suggested that the fee for permit should be $25 for the first t~ble, $10 each for the next three, and thereafter, the applicant would have to prove need if applying for a permit for a fifth table. The Mayor stated he did not think minors should be ruled out of play. No act.ion was taken. The Counc i I agreed to accept the apparent low bid for the yea~s supply of chlorine, from Alamo Welding Supply Co., San Anton i o. The Council approved the Mayor's reappointment of Mrs. Katherine Hardeman and J~M. Sims to the ~Ian~ing and Zoning Commission. I ~81
