Joe Hutchi nson of.the San Marcos Independent <br />School District, thanking the Council for paving Freder- <br />icksburg Street, copies of which were furnished Councilmen. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg introduced an ordinance and moved its <br />adoption. The ordinance, which was read and discussed, <br />authorized the Mayor to execute a deed conveying abandoned <br />alley~ and streets in the Z. Wi I liamson 3rd Addition and <br />F.P. Dannel ley Addition in the new elementary school site <br />to tllre San Marcos Independent School District. The ordinance <br />is made a part of the Minutes. Alderman Tuttle seconded <br />the motion and on roll cal I, the fol lowing vote waS recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for discussion the City's prior <br />commitment to sharing the cost of uti I ities and street <br />improvements in the Chautauqua Hi I I Project, in accord- <br />ance with the Cooperat i ve Agreement signed Aug. 26, 1963. <br />The City's proportionate share of the cost has been set <br />by the Engineer at approximately $32,750.00. The Local <br />Public Agency (Urban Renewal Agency) requested a Resolut- <br />ion affirming the City's intention to meet its commitments. <br />The matter was thoroughly discussed, with the City Manager <br />eXplaining the program and answering the questions of <br />Counci Imen. Alderman Pool moved approval of a Res=olution <br />accepting the City's share of the uti lities and street cost <br />of the Chautauqua Hi I I Project. Alderman Whittenberg second- <br />ed the motion. A copy of the Resolution is made a part of <br />the Minutes On 1'01 I cal I the fol lowing vote Was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAINING: <br /> <br />Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br />Froh <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />The City.Manager recommended that the Council make a tour <br />of the City's properties and faci lities, and visit the <br />projects in progress. I t was agreed that a date and hour <br />for the tour would be set a~the Apri I 19 meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Fred Richan appeared before the Counci I as a member of <br />the Lions Club, sponsor of Little League. The Lions <br />Club requested some improvements on the ball fields of <br />City Park. The Mayor said the City had always helped <br />with Little League in the past, and asked Mr. Richan to <br />confer with City Manager Fuller on the matter. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the matter of calling a special <br />election to fill the unexpired term of Alderman result- <br />ing from his election as Mayor.
