<br /> <br />17 S~. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND <br />TO EXECUTE ALL INSTRUMENTS NECESSARY TO EXTEND <br />SOCIAL SECURITY COVERAGE FOR ALL FIREMEN OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS PURSUANT TO AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE <br />FOR FEDERAL OLD-AGE AND SURVIVORS INSURANCE <br />BENEFITS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF APPLICABLE <br />STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS; DIRECTING THE TREAS- <br />URER TO MAKE SUCH ADDITIONAL OR SUPPLEMENTARY <br />ASSESSMENTS, COLLECTIONS AND REPORTS AS MAY <br />BE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR FIREMEN <br />AND ORDERING THE ALLOCATION AND SETTING ASIDE <br />IN THE REGULAR CITY DEPOSITORY IN THE FUND <br />KNOWN AS THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS SOCIAL SECUR- <br />ITY FUND, OF SUCH ADDITIONAL MONEY FROM AVAIL- <br />ABLE SOURCES AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE <br />SOCIAL SECURITY COVERAGE FOR ALL FIREMEN. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That B.R. Fuller, City Manager, is hereby <br />authorized, on behalf of the City of San Marcos, to <br />execute and enter into all necessary or supplementary <br />or amendatory agreements with the State Department of <br />Public Welfare for the purpose of extending to and <br />including social security coverage for all firemen of <br />the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the Treasurer is hereby directed to <br />make such assessments, collections, payments and reports <br />as may be required by the State Department of Public <br />Welfare to provide social security coverage for all <br />firemen of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
