)1'7 I AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF AN ALLEY BETWEEN BLOCK NO. 3 OF THE H.B. COFFIELD ADDITION AND FARM LOT 24 , GIVING AND GRANTING UNTO THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO PHYSICALLY CLOSE SAID PORTION OF SAID ALLEY FOREVER; AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF ALL OF THE RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN AND TO THE CLOSED AND VACATED PORTION OF SAID ALLEY UNTO THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE COLLEGE. Heretofore, the Governing Body has determined, and does hereby determine, that the herinafter descripbed portion of an alley will not be needed or desire for the public use in the future; and having been made known to the Governing Body of this City, that the state of Texas has heretofore pur- chased, and is now the owner of all property abutting on both sides of said alley, that said State of Texas desires that formal action be taken by the Governing Body of this City vacating and closing said portion of the alley, and authorizing said State of Texas to physically close the same; and said State of Texas has requested that all right, title and interest of this city in and to the vacated and closed portion of said alley be conveyed to the State of Texas, for the use and benefit of Southwest TexasState College. I It has heretofore been determined by this Governing Body and is hereby now determined, that the herinafter described portion of the said alley has been closed, aban- doned and vacated, and that the same is not necessary or desirable for traffic; and that the best interest of the City of San Marcos will be served by the closing of said portion of said alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION l. The hereinafter described portion of an alley within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, shall be, and is hereby closed, abandoned and vacated being described as follows: Beginning at a point, which point is the most Southeasterly corner of Lot 2, Block 3, H.B. Coffield Addition and is the point of intersection of an alley with the Northeast right-of-way line of Colorado Street; and, I Thence, in a Northerly direction along the East property line of Lots 2 and 3 of Block 3, H.B. Coffield Addition, 333.34 ft. ! to a point, which point is the Northeast corner of Lot 3, H.B. Coffield Addition and a point in the South right-of-way line of Concho Street; Thence, at right angles crossing a said alley to a point, which is the Northwest corner of Farm Lot 24; and, Thence, in a Southerly direction along the West boundary line of Farm Lot 24 to the Southwest corner of Farm Lot 24 and a point in the North right-of-way line of Colorado Street; and, Thence, crossing said alley in a Westerly direction to the Place of the Beginning. ::: :: >0: :,., N
