The Corporation Court Docket constitutes the <br />only official record of the Corporation Court <br />of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />"2. Upon request of a private cItizen or publ ic <br />official, the Corporation Court Docket may <br />be inspected in the presence of the Clerk of <br />the Court or the custodian. This record may <br />not be removed from the custody of said Clerk <br />or custodian." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read a letter from the Junior Chamber of <br />Commerce requesting the use of the Recreation Hall <br />and grounds of City Park for an Independence'Day <br />Celebration on Sunday, July 4, 1965, without charge. <br />On motion of Alderman Pool, and by common consent of <br />the Counci I, fees were waived for use of the Recreation <br />Hal I on July 4th. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported to the Counci I that the Plan- <br />ning & Zoning Commission had approved the plat of a <br />subdivision, "Tanglewood Addition", submitted by W.S. <br />Rader, and that Mr. Rader was putting up bond to insure <br />the installation of uti lities and street construction as <br />required by the Subdivision Ordinance. Alderman Whitten- <br />berg moved that the subdivision plat be approved. Alder- <br />man Tuttle seconded the motion, and on 1'01 I cal I, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Froh introduced a request from Mrs. Wi I liam A. <br />Wyatt, I OCa I hi stor i an. She asked that the three men <br />who laid out the township of San Marcos in 1845 be <br />commemorated by having streets named for them. Mrs. <br />Wyatt had first made this request through the Planning & <br />Zoning Commission on September 29, 1964. The names of the <br />three founders of the town were Michael Sessom, Wi Iliam <br />Washington Moon and Dr. Eli T. Merriman, the first physi- <br />c i an in San Marcos. I t was requested that 0 I mos Dr i ve be <br />changed to Sessom Drive; Union Street to Moon Drive; and <br />a proposed new street in the vicinity of San Marcos Academy <br />be designated as Merriman Drive. The matter was favorably <br />discussed, Dr. Pool in particular urging the change. Alder- <br />man Damon moved that a Resolution be prepared ordering the <br />streets renamed as suggested by Mrs. Wyatt.
