<br />I, ~ <br />I <br /> <br />'-I <br /> <br />9-- '7 S <br /> <br />TWO RECOMMENDATIONS TO SAN MARCOS CITY COUNCIL JAN 11, 1965 <br /> <br />1. That by February 1, 1965, there be the minimum number of "enforcement" Policemen <br />(excluding Meter Men and Night Watchmen) employed to represent a ratio of one (1) <br />Police per each 1000 San Marcos population (14 Police per 14,200 population). <br /> <br />2. That the minimum starting pay be $300.00 monthly, and that the City provide: <br /> <br />Initial Uniform to include cap, shirt, pants, shoes, raincoat, and all-weather <br />jacket. Also gun, gun harness, and ammunition to include annual qualification <br />over a standard Police Target Course. And that there will be a $50.00 annual <br />uniform replacement allowance. (#2 recommendation applies to Meter Men and <br />Night Watchmen as well as "enforcement" Policemen). <br /> <br />V;:;4'"-, Lv, /t..,{[/ <br />JAMES W. HILL <br />Lt Col USA Ret <br /> <br />I RECOMMENDATION TO SAN MARCOS CITY COUNCIL JULY 26, 1965. <br /> <br />., ' Asking that the above January 11, 1965, recommendation, and the San Marcos Record <br />article of January 14, 1965, relative thereto be added to this meeting of the City <br />Council record, it is this date recommended that: <br /> <br />"San Marcos and Hays County authorize Police Chief Wayman Dial and County Sheriff <br />Bobby Kinser to attend the FBI National Police Academy (NPA) located in the Federal <br />Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D. C. Authorization <br />to inc~ude current salary plus per diem and travel expenses". <br /> <br />(Noted that the School is 11 free", is of 90 days duration, is conducted by the FB! <br />in the public interest to insure efficient municipal law enforcement) . <br /> <br />(Noted that San Marcos City Council could send Chief Dial and could recommend that <br />Hays County Commissioners Court send Sheriff Kinser; such attendance to be at <br />separate time periods). <br /> <br />J;::.~C::J k---: !l-c.A-'O <br />JAMES W.
