<br />adjourned regular meeting, public hearing, july 26,1965, <br />page three <br /> <br />The second petition, signed by Mr. and Mrs. Marion <br />ParKer, was for annexation of Lots I & 2, San Marcos <br />Heights, on Chestnut Street at the corner of Holland. <br />Alderman Pool moved acceptance of the petition for <br />annexation. Alderman Froh seconded the motion and on <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: ' <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Froh, Pool, Tuttle <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from Mrs. Eva Dolan, <br />requesting a further change of zoning on her property <br />at 816 W. Hopkins Street. The case was reviewed and <br />discussed, the new Aldermen being informed of the prev- <br />ious actions of the Planning & Zoning Commission and <br />the Counci I. By common consent, it was agreed by the <br />Counci I to uphold the Planning & Zoning Commission's <br />ruling on the case. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened for discussion the hazard created by <br />young swimmers at the Cheatham Street crossing of the <br />San Marcos River. Several suggestions, including widen- <br />ing of the bridge, fencing the bridge, and a program of <br />education, were offered by Councilmen and visitors at the <br />meeting. The Mayor requested the City Manager to consult <br />with the Chief of Police and worK out a plan to keep <br />chi Idren from playing on the bridge. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9: 13 p.m. <br /> <br />~~~?
