The City Manager <br />stated that the Chief Inspector had approved the <br />installation. The matter was discussed. Alderman Froh <br />moved the Counci I approve the instal lationof ~he above- <br />ground tank. Alderman Pool seconded the motion and on <br />1"01 I cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, froh, Tuttle, Pool, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Manager gave a report on the acquisition of <br />the "Slough Tract". Alderman Froh moved that the City <br />Manager be authorized to proceed with the acquisition <br />of the 1.3 acres of slough property that rUns through <br />the Municipal Golf Course. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion. The matter Was discussed. The Mayor stated <br />that the I and wou I d be leased to Aquar,enaforthe cost <br />of the property. The question being called for, the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager informed the Counci I that he had been <br />advised by telephone on Friday, August 6th, that the <br />necessary transfer papers would not clear the Dallas <br />office of GSA on the property requested for a munici- <br />pal airport at Camp Gary. He explained that there was <br />no "hitch", but that it just had not been processed <br />through all the sections. He was promised it would <br />be "hand-carried" to San Marcos the week of August 9th. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager reported to the Counci I on the latest <br />developments in the City's acquisition of "Potter's <br />Creek Park" site at Canyon Reservoir. MI". Fuller out- <br />lined the plan by which the City may develop a recreat- <br />ion area at Canyon Reservoir. Maps made by the U.S. <br />Corps of Engineers were used to illustrate the exact <br />location of Potter's Creek Park. Pictures taken for <br />The Record by Tom Buckner were exhibited to show the <br />~nic beauty of the site. Discussion ensued on the <br />possibi lity of Hays County joining with the City of <br />San Marcos in acquisition of the park site.
