<br />regu I ar meet i ng, september 13, 1965 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />"The Citizens Advisory Committee met and requested <br />that the fol lowing motion be transmitted to the <br />City Counci I: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />, The Advisory 'Committee has heard a report by <br />the City Manager/Planner of the immediate <br />needs of the City of San Marcos, the project- <br />ed five-year needs, and the long-range plan- <br />ning for the City. In view of the pressing <br />need for expansion of sewer and water lines, <br />the need for additional streets and bridges, <br />together with the reworking of our present <br />streets, and community faci lities, this Body <br />goes on record as recommending that the City <br />Co~ncil take such measures as may be necessary <br />to alleviate the present critical need, the <br />projected five-year need, and to adequate I y <br />plan for future expansion.' <br /> <br />"The above was unanimously passed." <br /> <br />Mr. Serur stated that the Counci I proposed to take <br />such action. <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg moved that a flag pole be pur- <br />chased for the Cemetery, for use on Memorial Day. <br />He stated Widel ite Corp. would sel I a suitable flag- <br />pole to the City for $225.00. Aldermwn Damon second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Froh commented on the heavy traffic In San <br />Marcos, due partly from increased enrollment at the <br />Col lege. He suggested the C~unci I consider one-way <br />traffic regulation, north on Lyndon B. Johnson Drive, <br />and south on Guadalupe, as a possible solution. The <br />City Manager said he would give it consideration. He <br />stated he had discussed a traffic study with the High= <br />way Department, and the estimated cost was $35,000.00 <br /> <br />The Council recessed, to reconvene immediately in <br />executive session. <br /> <br />E X E CUT I V E <br /> <br />S E S S ION <br /> <br />The Mayor reconvened the meeting and announced that <br />appointments to the Local Public Agency (Urban Renewal <br />Agency) were in order. By common consent, Augustin <br />Lucio, jr.., was reappointed to a two-year term; and <br />Mrs. Laura L.
