<br />I- <br />I <br /> <br />regu I ar meet i ng, november 8, 1965 <br /> <br />page foul' <br /> <br />The question being called for, the fol lowing vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Damon, commenting on the fact that the Counci I <br />meeting was being taped for broadcast the following day, <br />commended KCNY for initiating the program as a public <br />service. By common consent, the Counci I expressed its <br />appreciation for t~e service. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Pool moved that Joe Gafford be appointed Manager of <br />the M~nicipal Airpo~t, on terms suggested by him. Alder- <br />man Pool outlined these terms, and included in his motion <br />that Mrs. Worre II be author i zed to draw up a contract for <br />execution by the City with Mr. Gafford. Alderman Damon <br />seconded the motion. The matter was thoroughly discussed. <br />On roll cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Froh, Pool, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Froh asked if a contract had been signed with the <br />Office of Economic Opportunity for garbage and water service <br />for Gary Job Corps Center by the City of San Marcos. Mr. <br />Ful IeI' stated the matter was sti II being negotiated. Mr. I <br />Froh said the City ought to get the contracts signed as <br />soon as possible. Alderman Whittenberg moved that the <br />Mayor write Job Corps officials and ask them to meet <br />with the City Council at the December regular meeting to <br />discuss the matter and ask them to propose contracts. <br />Alderman Damon seconded the motion ~nd on 1'01 I cal I, the <br />fo II ow i"g vote was recorded : <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Leland Jackson, recognized by the Mayor, voiced a complaint <br />that Canyon Road was not kept in better cond i t i on. I twas <br />brought out in the discussion that fol lowed, that Canyon <br />Road is not a dedicated street; that it traverses private <br />property and was bui It through the canyon by a private <br />party. Mr. Ful IeI' stated that the road is maintained <br />principally because it is used by the school bus, and that <br />it has been passable at al I times, although it requires con- <br />~tant patching because of the washouts caused by rain on the <br />steep incl ine.
