<br />o R DIN A N C E <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING WATER USE CHARGES, PROVIDING FOR <br />A WATER CONNECTION CHARGE, PROVIDING A MINIMUM CHARGE FOR <br />WATER SERVICE, PROVIDING THAT ALL USERS OF WATER PAY THE <br />ESTABLISHED CHARGES FOR WATER AND WATER SERVICE, REPEALING <br />ALL LAWS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />That charges for the use of water, connection to water system <br />and water service within the limits of the City of San Marcos shall <br />be upon the following basis: <br /> <br />Sect ion 1- <br />Where a water meter is in use, the monthly charge for the use of <br />water shall be as follows: <br />First 2000 gallons--------------$1.50 (minimum bill) <br />Next 3000 gallons-------------------- 0.30 per 1000 gallons <br />Next 5000 gallons-------------------- 0.25 per 1000 gallons <br />Over 10,000 gallons------------------ 0.20 per 1000 gallons <br /> <br />Section 2. <br />When a new connection is requested to be made to the water system <br />of the City of San Marcos, a charge of $'70.00 shall be collected prior <br />to making any such connection. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br />Where no water meter is in use, the lowest minimum monthly charge <br />for water service shall be $2.00 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Section 4. <br />The established charges for the use of water, connection to water <br />system, or water service, as herein provided, shall be paid by all <br />persons, firms, corporations, and governmental entities. <br /> <br />Section 5. <br />All ordinances, resolutions, or parts of ordinances or resolutions, <br />in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Section 6. <br />If any article, subdivision, paragraph, clause, section, phrase, <br />or sentence of this ordinance, or the application thereof to a parti- <br />cular person, set of persons, or to a particular set of circumstances <br />should, for any reason, be held invalid, such invalidity shall in no <br />wise affect the remaining provisions hereof, and to such end the <br />various provisions hereof are declared to be separable. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 14th day of February, A.D. 1966. <br /> <br />~~d~/ <br /> <br />Ellis Serur, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(, . /j{'~\ " <br />(\ )'\. \ 'J' ,!
