GAFFORD AS FIXED BASE OPERATOR <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, <br />the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />Alderman Pool moved the new airport be officially designated <br />as "San Marcos Municipal Airport". Alderman Damon seconded <br />the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Pool introduced the matter of leasing the pasture <br />land at the Airport. Alderman ~hittenb~rg moved t~at ~he <br />City Manager be authorized to negotiate a lease with a <br />grower to pJant maize on the 900-plus ~cr~sof land avai 1- <br />able on the Airport property. Alderman Tuttle seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the previously discussed need for a <br />separate entrance to the Municipal Airport. He reminded <br />Counci Imen that it had been discussed with the State <br />Highway Department, which had pledged cooperation in <br />providing a bridge at one point on the road. Total cost <br />of the bridge was estimated at $4,000. Alderman Damon mov- <br />ed that the Counci I authorize the City Manager to negotiate <br />further with the State Highway Department; and to spend up <br />to $1,000 as the City's share of the cost of the bridge. <br />Alderman Froh seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor appointed a committee to work with County Judge <br />Max Smith and his committee on parking around the Square. <br />The fol lowing persons were named as the City's Downtown <br />Parking Committee: Elwood Soechting, C.H. Klipple, <br />R.C.
