<br />march 14, 1966 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TEXAS <br />PROVIDING FOR BORROWING MONEY AND ISSUING OF <br />GENERAL FUND CURRENT EXPENSE WARRANTS TO THE <br />AMOUNT OF $60,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING <br />CURRENT OPERATING EXPENSES DURING THE FISCAL <br />Y EAR OF JANUARY I, 1966 TO DECEMBER 31, 1966; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL <br />AND INTEREST OF SAID WARRANT <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Damon moved the adoption of the Ordinance. <br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on 1"01 I cal I <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon,"Froh,Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented for consideration of the Counci I <br />petitions of annexation for two separate parcels of land <br />belonging to M.B. Clapp. Alderman Pool read aloud the first <br />petition; the City Manager read the second. Acceptance of the <br />annexation petitions was contingent on the conveyance to the <br />City of a 50-ft. roadway, as agreed upon. The conveyance deed, <br />signed and sealed, was read aloud. Alderman Whittenberg moved <br />that the conveyance and petitions be received. Alderman Tuttle <br />seconded the motion and on 1"01 I call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Froh asked that the City Manager request the MKT <br />Rai Iroad to repair the rough crossing "On Guadalupe Street <br />furthest out to Seguin". <br /> <br />Alderman Pool cal led attention to the urgent need for flashing <br />lights at all rai Iroad crossings within the City Limits, and <br />asked Mr. Wolff to establish the cost of installation. <br /> <br />Mayor Serur, referred to the departmental monthly reports, <br />commented on the good record of the Police Department, and <br />gave Police Chief Dial a special commendation for an excel lent <br />job. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Elwood Soechting, Chairman of the City;s Downtown Parking <br />Committee, made a report to the Counci I on a meeting with <br />the County Commissioners that morning. He said the Commission- <br />ers had voted unanimously that meters be installed around <br />Court House Square. He said the Commissioners had set a joint <br />meeting for March 31 for a meeting with a representative of the <br />City, to discuss cost of installing meters. He cal led attention <br />to the fact that installation of more meters for downtown shop- <br />pers would take the available parking for County employees. <br />Mr. Soechting said several suggestions had been made for County <br />employee parking lots. The City Manager reported that Duncan- <br />Mi lieI' Meter Co. is wi I ling to instal I 50 to 100 meters on a <br />trial basis, maintenpri~ free. The meters will take nickles, dimes <br />or tokens. The Mayor asked the City Manager to meet with the <br />County Commissioners and work out a plan for proportionate costs. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m. <br />
