<br />3.8 That this certificate shall not relieve the Master Electrician of his res-
<br />ponsibility for any defective work that may have been concealed or escaped the
<br />notice of the Inspector.
<br />
<br />3.9 That it shall be unlawful for any Public Service Company operating in
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, to furnish current to any new building, tent,
<br />structure or outdoor wiring of any kind, nature or description, without first
<br />obtaining clearance from the City Electrical Inspector stating that such wiring
<br />is approved and a permit has been issued for the use of current. Whenever any
<br />service is discontinued to any building or structure for any cause whatever
<br />(except nonpayment of bill) a clearance will be necessary before said building
<br />or structure can be reconnected.

<br />3.10 That there shall be two inspections. (a) Rough-in inspection, or be-
<br />fore any wor~, wire, or device has been concealed; (b) Final inspection after
<br />all work has been completed. Re~uest for such inspection shall be made twenty-
<br />four hours in advance.

<br />SECTION 4. FEES FOR INSPECTION.
<br />
<br />4.1 That the permit for installation of any and all electric wlrlng, appara-
<br />tus, equipment, and other electrical work~ repairs, operations and renewals, the
<br />fees hereunder specified shall be paid by the person applying for the permit to
<br />the City Electrical Inspector at the time application is made for inspection. No
<br />permit shall be issued hy said Electrical Inspector for less than a minimum fee
<br />of one dollar ($1.00).
<br />
<br />4.2 That the outlets for electric light or power in or upon any building
<br />whether wiring is concealed or open, twenty-five cents per outlet for the first
<br />four outlets, ten cents per outlet for the next twenty-one outlets, and five
<br />cents for each outlet over twenty-five outlets.
<br />
<br />4.3 That for service switches, ,mail service switch cabinets, neter loops
<br />and main protecting fuses, together with their immediate accessories, each at
<br />the same time and place, One and no/lOO ($1.00) Dollar.
<br />
<br />4.4 That for each transformer (excepting bell ringing transformer), rec- I
<br />tifier, or similar apparatus, wherehy electric current is controlled, modified
<br />or impeded, seventy-five ($' .,5) cents, except as otherwise provided in Section
<br />4.6

<br />4.5 That for installation of motors over 1/2-horse power or generators and
<br />their immediate operating devices, One and no/lOO Dollars ($1.00) each.
<br />
<br />4.6 That for electric signs and other eQuipment in connection therewith,
<br />Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50).

<br />4., That for installation of such moving picture machine and all operating
<br />devices used in connection therewith, Five and no/lOO Dollars each ($5.00).
<br />
<br />4.8 That for each temporary service connection for electric current, One
<br />arid No/IOO ($1. 00) Dollars.

<br />SECTION 5. RULES.
<br />
<br />5.0 That the rules and regulations of the National Board of Fire Under.~iters
<br />embodied in its "National Electric Code" published in 1965 and such subsequent
<br />codes, amendments and supplements as said adopted as the rules and regulations
<br />to govern and to be observed in all Electric wiring, and in all construction,
<br />installation, operation, and maintenance of electric wiring, apparatus and fix-
<br />tures except as otherwise specifically provided in this ordinance, and the same I
<br />herehy made a part of this ordinance as if copies herein in full.
<br />
<br />5.1 That the term "commercial building" will apply to all public buildings,
<br />grain elevators, or places used for storage of grain, factories, garages, hotels,
<br />hospitals, auditoriums, laundries, churches, theaters, moving picture houses,
<br />or any other public gathering place, machine shop, buildings used for the storage
<br />of readily inflroamable materials, filling stations, and lumher sheds located
<br />within the City Limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas.

<br />5.2 That all electrical wiring for light, heat, and/or power purposes here-
<br />after to he installed in commercial huildings situated in the City of San Marcos,
<br />Texas, shall in all cases be contained and encased in a rigid metallic conduit,
<br />electrical metalic tubing, or metal molding.
