<br />5.18 That built-in ovens shall have min. size wire 10/2 W.G. Ranges shall have <br />~in. 8/3 W.G. If name plate shows rating larger conductors shall be installed <br />accordingly. <br /> <br />5.19 That there shall be an outlet box of proper size at every outlet. No <br />more than 8 #12 wire shall be placed in 1 1/2" by 4" oct. box. <br /> <br />5.20 That electrical panels shall be placed in accordance with National <br />Electric Code 1965 Edition. <br /> <br />5:21 That all motor-driven appliances shall have a means of disconnect <br />within sight of the appliance. <br /> <br />5.22 That there shall be a main disconnect on every service containing more <br />than six circuits. (Multifamily housing separately metered.) Waterproof main <br />to be located on an outside wall. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 6. EXEMPTIONS: <br /> <br />6.1 That all electrical work under construction or formally contracted for <br />at the time of passage of this ordinance shall be exempted from the provisions <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br />6.2 That no permit is required to replace any electrical fixtures or appliances <br />which require no change in the electric wiring for such fixture or appliance. <br /> <br />SECTION 7. LIABILITY, <br /> <br />7.1 That this ordinance shall not be construed to relieve from or lessen <br />the responsibility of any corporation, co-parnership, association, individual, <br />or agent thereof, installing, operating or controlling any electric wiring or <br />electrical apparatus for damages to anyone thereby, or for full and faithful <br />performance of the contract, nor shall the City of San Marcos, Texas, be held as <br />assuming any liability by reason of the inspection authorized herein or certifi- <br />cate, or permit issued pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 8. PENALTY: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />8.1 That any person, firm, or corporation who violates any part of this or- <br />dinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be <br />fined in any sum of not less than One Dollar nor more than One Hundred Dollars. <br />Each and every day's continuance of any violation of the provisions of this or- <br />dinance shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> <br />SECTION 9. SAVINGS CLPLUSE." <br /> <br />9.1 That if any section, paragraph, sentence, or phrase of this ordinance <br />be invalid, or unconstitutional, then such invalid or unconstitutional portion <br />shall not in any way affect the remainder of this ordinance, and it is hereby <br />declared as the intent of the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, that <br />the remainder of this ordinance would have been passed by the City Council of the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, notwithstanding the invalidity or unconstitutionality <br />of such section, paragraph, sentence, or phrase. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS , <br />that all ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, in <br />conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby in all respects repealed. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its <br />passage. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this <br /> <br />the ':2:'3 d day of May, 1966. <br /> <br />-~/; ~/7 <br />~./.. <br />/'-----' .- . 4- /~. __, _ ~' <br />.~/ ' .
