<br /> -- <br />executive sesSion august 16, 1966 page two <br />Fire Equipment $ 75,000 <br />Fire Station 90,000 <br />Acquisition of Park Land 150,000 <br />Civic Center 100,000 <br />City H a II 120,000 I <br />Street Paving (Residential) 140,000 <br />Street Signs {1 Signa I Lights 75. 000, <br /> TOTAL $750,000 <br /> <br />Mr. Klotz discussed the possibi lity of Federal assist- <br />ance on some of the items, under certain conditions. <br />After adding the approximate cost of the City's share <br />in the improvements, it was agreed to ask for approv- <br />al of a $2,585,000 bond issue. <br /> <br />The City Manager and the Fiscal Agent discussed the <br />tax structure necessary to meet the coming year's <br />budget, and the financial potential after the Tax <br />Evaluation program is completed. Mr. Klotz talked <br />about effective ways to "seJI" the bond issue to the <br />qualified voters. He said they should be approached <br />on the basis of three points: Need, Finance {1 Project. <br />He laid great stress on having an architect's drawing <br />or "picture- to give people some idea of how a bui Id- <br />ing would look, and how it would be uti I ized. After <br />much discussion, AI~~rman Damon moved that the City <br />Manager be authorized to request Lockwood, Andrews {1 <br />Newnam to employ an architect to prepare drawings of <br />a Fire Station, City Hall and Civic Center, the cost <br />not to exceed $/500; that the engineering fi!'m be auth- <br />orized to pursue further study of the prelimina!'y plan <br />fo!' sewage disposal, the cost not to exceed $1000; and <br />to make application to the State for a permit for addit- <br />ional disposal faei lities. Alderman Korff seconded the <br />motion and on roll cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Ko!'ff, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Klotz sajd one person should be designated to act <br />for the City in matters dealing with Federal aid, and <br />that it was customa~y for the Ci~y Manage!' to be that <br />person. A I derman Korff moved the adopt i 0(\ of a Reso I ut~ <br />ion authorizing the City Manager to act as the City~s <br />agenti n applying for Federal g!'ants,1 oans , etc. <br />Alde!'man Whittenberg seconded the motion and on rol I call, <br />the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Korff, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion car!'ied. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />
