Storey <br />and wife, Allene B. Storey, ~nd H,M. Wal.ling and wife, <br />Maur ice Wa II i ng, request i ng that. the City abandon and dec I are <br />vacant a 16-ft. alleyabuftin~ o~their property on Colorado St. <br />The Mayor requ<l2Sted the City Secretary to read a loud an ord i nance, <br />caption of which fol lows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING VACATED, ABANDONED AND ~LOSED A <br />CERTIAN PORTION OF AN ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK 21 OF THE <br />ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS; AND AUTHORlllNG THE EX- <br />ECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A DEED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS TO R.T. STOREY AND ALLENE B. STOREY OF ANY <br />I NTEREST THE C I TV OF SAN MARCOS MA Y HAVE I N SUCH PORTI ON <br />OF SAID ALLEY IN CONSIDERATION OF THE EXECUTION AND DE- <br />LIVERY O~ A DEED BY THE SAiD R.T. STOREY AND ALLENE B. <br />STOREY TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS OF A PORTION OF LOT <br />4 IN SAID BLOCK NO. 21 OF SIMILAR SIZE TO THE ABANDONED <br />PORTION OF SAID ALLEY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Damon asked the City Manager to draw a plat of the <br />property under discussion, on the blackboard. Mr. Wolff said <br />there were eight lots in the property. AldermanWhittenberg <br />moved that the ord i nance be adopted, so that discuss i on cou I d <br />proceed. Alderman Pool seconded the moti6n. It was pointed <br />out that the acquisition by the City of 16 feet would enable <br />the wi den i n9 .of Water Street from 40 feet to 56 feet. <br />Mr. Storey said he had had the property surveyed; that he would <br />not build on the Water Street side of his property for five years, <br />in case the City should need more footage for the drive along <br />Water Street. Alderman Damon said the Planners had indicated <br />that C.M. Allen Boulevard would go closer to Union Street and <br />
