<br />regu I ar meet i ng, october 24, 1966 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />was called for, and the fol lowing vote recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Ben Primer came before the Counci I to give a request- <br />edreport on the i nc i dence of tubercu I os i sin San Marcos, I <br />and the current program to combat the disease. A copy of <br />the report is attached as a part of the Minutes. Dr. <br />Primer said the Community Action Health Program was enabling <br />the Unit to contact more cases, especially the elderly. <br />Mrs. Buford Wi I I iams paid tribute to the late Miss Ruby <br />Henderson and her work with the local TB Association. <br />Later, James BurweJ I, Sanitary Engineer, reported that <br />the Hea I th Un i t \~as app I yi ng for a Federa I Grant to set <br />up a Migrant Health Program in San Marcos. The request <br />is for a direct grant of $93,243.00 for a three-year <br />program. There wil I be no financial participation by <br />the City or County, and ~he application does not require <br />approval of either body. Mr. Burwel I stated he would like <br />the program to be registered in the City's name, however. <br />Alderman Damon moved approval of the program, and that it <br />be registered in the City's name, if it we.re legal. Alder- <br />man Pool seconded ~he motion and on 1'01 I call, the fol low- <br />ing v@~e was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a proposed ordinance establishing <br />certa i n c I os i ng hours foritheC i ty Park. A (.derman Froh <br />moved adoption of the Ordinance. Alderman Damon second- <br />ed the Motion and onrol I call, the fol lowing vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed,Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance amending an Ordinance <br />setting minimum Corporation Court fines, and asked the <br />City Secretary to read it aloud. Alderman Damon moved <br />adoption of the Ordinance. Alderman Froh seconded the <br />motion. The Mayor qu~stioned Article (gg): "Leaving <br />the scene of an accident _ $1.00." Reference was made to <br />a letter from Corporat i on Judge Ben Copass, in wh i en <br />he requested the addition of certain fines to the list, <br />with suggested penalty. It was concluded that a typp- <br />graph i ca I error had. been made. AI dermanDamon ,cam~nded <br />his motion of adoption to change. the fine on (gg) to <br />$25.00, as requested by Judge Copass.
