Roberts, Ronald Dannelley, James <br />Burwe II <br /> <br />The Mayor cal led the meeting to order and explained the <br />purpose of the meeting, He introduced an ordinance, caption <br />of which is as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, .TEXAS,MAKINGPROV IS ION FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />AND PAYMENT FOR 3.22 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE T.J. <br />CHANBERS SURVEY I NHAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, SUCH ACREAGE <br />TO BE A\)DED TO THE CITY CEMETERY; PROVIDING FORTHE <br />ISSUANCE OF $10,000.00 4!% TIME WARRANTS BY SAID <br />CITY IN PAYMENT FOR SAID LAND; PROVIDING FOR THE <br />LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY <br />IN SAID CITY IN AN AMOUNT SUfFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST <br />ON SUCH wARRANTS AND THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATURITY <br /> <br />The City Secretary read aloud the ordinance. Alderman Froh <br />moved adopt i on of ' the Ord inance. A I derman Damon seconded the <br />motion and on rolr call, the fol lowing vote WaS recorded: <br /> <br />AYE; Damon, Froh, Korff <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager intrmduced for discussion his proposal that <br />the' City issue warrants to pay for eqU i pment recent I y purchased. <br />He explaine~ that the proposed Charter provides for a change of <br />f i sca I year from Jan. I to Oct. I, If the voters approve the <br />Charter February 24, it ,would go into effect immediately. This <br />would necessitate adjustments in financing. The Mayor voiced <br />approval of the City Manager's proposal. Mr. Wolff asked the <br />Counci I to authorize publication of "Notice of Intention to <br />Issue Time Warrants", He explained that the publication of <br />the notice is only the first step in the process of issuing <br />warrants, and gives voters an opportunity to protest. It in no <br />way obi igates the Counci I to proceed with issuance of the warrants, <br />if a better way to finance the purchase should be devised. <br />
