Alderman Korff moved <br />approval of the Resolution. Alderman Froh seconded <br />the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Reso/ution Passed and Approved, <br />and affixed his signature to the Resolution and the <br />Notice of Intention required by the Resolution, see <br />attached. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that theappl ication for <br />Water and Sewer Grants had gone forward to Housing <br />and Urban Development. Mr. Wolff announced that the <br />City's application for an amended permit for stream <br />pollution had been fi led with the State. The City <br />Manager notified the Counci I that the Texas Water <br />Rights Commission had cal led a publ ic hearing for <br />'March 23, in Aust in, on San Marcos' Water Rights <br />Permit. Mr. Wolff explained that the permit, which <br />was transferred to the City with the property bought <br />from Coy DeViney, entitles the City to divert 300 <br />cu. ft. a second from the San Marcos River, or two <br />mi I lion gal Ions per day. The Texas Water Rights Com- <br />mission is holding hearings on al I permits which have <br />been inactive for ten years. The City Manager recom- <br />mended that the City Attorney and members of the Coun- <br />ci I be in attendance at the March 23 hearing, and that <br />every effort be made to retain the permit. The recom- <br />mendation was approved by common consent of the Counci I. <br /> <br />The City Manager sa i d a front-end loader ,-IOU I d be need- <br />ed by Spring, and he .would I ike to advertise for bids <br />to be opened at the March 13 meeting. Alderman Korff <br />expressed the opinion that it was more economical for <br />the City to buy new equipment, than used. Mr. Wolff <br />said his experience had been that heavy equipment of <br />this type did not deteriorate as quickly as light equip- <br />ment. A general discussion waS held on the City's <br />equipment. Mr. Korff asked if the budget did not pro- <br />vide for purchase of a street sweeper.
