Mr. Crutchfield said he would like to <br />see his business incorporated. Dr. Pool said the lease <br />did not COVer the runways. Rader came before the Counci I asking the Counci I's <br />approval of Tanglewood #2 as a subdivision. He explained <br />his plans, using a plat for demonstration. Mr. Rader made a <br />proposition to the City on sharing the cost of utility service <br />to the subdivision. Cost of the I ines was estimated at $13,500. <br />Mr. Rader agreed to pay $9600 in water and sewer taps, as <br />houses were bui It, which would reduce the cost to the City to <br />about $3900. The matter was thoroughly discussed. Mr. Damon <br />moved approval of the subdivision plans. Mr. Damon <br />seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Rader said a formal agreement with the City on his proposal <br />would be drawn up for signatures. He stated he would pay 50% <br />of the estimated tap fees in advance when the work started. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced discussion on the U~S. Corps of Engineers' <br />Flood Control Plan for San Marcos. Mr. Damon said that, after <br />hearing the Corps' presentation, he felt the Counci I was unable <br />to go into the project. Mr. Korff said he thought the Counci I <br />shouldask'the engineers to come to San Marcos for a public hearing, <br />and let the people air their views. Mr. Damon said that the Corps <br />of Engineers'plan was not the only method avai lable for flood <br />control; that the Soil Conservation Service achieved the same goal <br />with different methods. Mr. Whittenberg said he had heard only <br />part of the presentation, since he had had to leave the meeting. <br />He realized they had made a detai led study, and it was a good <br />project, but the cost to the City was over $2,000,000.
