Box 17300 <br />Fort Worth, Texas 76102 <br /> <br />Dear Colonel Fickessen: <br /> <br />At a meeting held in San Marcos, Texas, on June 7, 1967, members <br /> <br />of your staff discussed with representatives of the City of San Marcos <br /> <br />the results of the Corps of Engineers' studies and investigations made <br /> <br />in connection with the preparation of a report covering the Blanco and <br /> <br />San Marcos Rivers and tributaries in the vicinity of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The proposed plan of improvement for flood protection was <br /> <br />described and discussed during the meeting held on June 7, 1967. The <br /> <br />proposed plan of impl'ovement would provide protection for San Marcos <br /> <br />against floods having average frequencies of occurrence of once in <br /> <br />100 years and would consist of channel improvements on the San Marcos <br /> <br />River and its tributaries and the excavation of a diversion channel <br /> <br />from Sink Creek to the Blanco River. <br /> <br />The Corps of Engineers is hereby advised that the City of San Marcos <br /> <br />concurs with the proposed plan of flood protection and has authorized <br /> <br />its designated officials to sign a letter of intent indicating a desire <br /> <br />to cooperate in the Corps of Engineers proposed plan of improvement and to <br /> <br />agree to: <br /> <br />I <br />
