The question being called for, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool Craddock, Serur, Whittenberg The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved by a 4 to 3 vote. I Mrs. J.L, Moore came before the Council to protest the renaming of Elmore Street. She said the street had borne the name "Elmore" for 17 years, and that one day, the sign was taken down, and "LBJ Drive" put up. She asked who had authorized the change, and the reason for it. Mr. Korff said it was really "Old Wimberley Road", and they should leave it that way, "and then everyone would be happy". Mr. Damon said the original action changing Austin Street to Lyndon B. Johnson Drive should be checked; that in his opinion that street terminated at Holland Street. Mrs. Moore said they had given 50 ft. of their property for the street, in exchange for naming it "Elmore". It was agreed the City Manager should check the matter, and remove the sign. The Mayor introduced for third and final reading the Ordinance annexing Hughson Heights. Councilman Damon moved adoption of the Ordinance. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion ~nd on roll call, the following vote was recorded: .AY E: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg NAY: None I The Mayor declared the Ordinance annexing Hughson Heights Passed, Approved and Adopted. The Mayor said formal approval of the Council for participat- ion in the tax evaluation program on a pro-rata basis was required. It had been previously discussed.. Dr. Craddock moved approval of the ~ity's cost of the tax ev~luation program, estimated on a pro-rata basis w~th other taKing agencies. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, w~ichpassed unanimously. Dr. Pool moved that Ernst as .auditors .for the City. which passed unanimously. & Ernst be appointed to continue Mr. Korff seconded the motion, Mr. Flores introduced a Resolution expressing regret over the death of Marine Sgt. Edward Gaytan in Vi~tnam, and moved its adoption. Dr. Pool seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, The Mayor directed that a copy be sent to Sgt. Gaytan's mpther. The Mayor introduced a Resolution authorizing the filing of an application with the Housing and Home Finance Agency for a loan to aid in financing water. and sewer improvemellts. I
