<br />regular meeting, september 25, 1967 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Manager explore the possibility of Mr. Rader's sharing <br />in the policy set forth in the Resolution, ~f it became <br />effective. The question being called for, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool <br />Craddock, Serur, Whittenberg <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved <br />by a 4 to 3 vote. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs. J.L, Moore came before the Council to protest the <br />renaming of Elmore Street. She said the street had borne <br />the name "Elmore" for 17 years, and that one day, the sign <br />was taken down, and "LBJ Drive" put up. She asked who had <br />authorized the change, and the reason for it. Mr. Korff <br />said it was really "Old Wimberley Road", and they should <br />leave it that way, "and then everyone would be happy". <br />Mr. Damon said the original action changing Austin Street <br />to Lyndon B. Johnson Drive should be checked; that in his <br />opinion that street terminated at Holland Street. Mrs. <br />Moore said they had given 50 ft. of their property for the <br />street, in exchange for naming it "Elmore". It was agreed <br />the City Manager should check the matter, and remove the sign. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for third and final reading the Ordinance <br />annexing Hughson Heights. Councilman Damon moved adoption of <br />the Ordinance. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion ~nd on roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />.AY E: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, <br />Whittenberg <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance annexing Hughson Heights <br />Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor said formal approval of the Council for participat- <br />ion in the tax evaluation program on a pro-rata basis was <br />required. It had been previously discussed.. Dr. Craddock <br />moved approval of the ~ity's cost of the tax ev~luation <br />program, estimated on a pro-rata basis w~th other taKing <br />agencies. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, w~ichpassed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Pool moved that Ernst <br />as .auditors .for the City. <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />& Ernst be appointed to continue <br />Mr. Korff seconded the motion, <br /> <br />Mr. Flores introduced a Resolution expressing regret over <br />the death of Marine Sgt. Edward Gaytan in Vi~tnam, and <br />moved its adoption. Dr. Pool seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously, The Mayor directed that a copy be <br />sent to Sgt. Gaytan's mpther. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution authorizing the filing <br />of an application with the Housing and Home Finance Agency <br />for a loan to aid in financing water. and sewer improvemellts. <br /> <br />I <br />
