<br />regu I ar meet i ng, november 13, 1967 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced four items of business related to commun- <br />ications from the Planning & Zoning Commission. First for <br />consideration of the Counci I was approval of a change of zon- <br />ing on Lots 3 thru 6 & 10 thru 27 of the C.C. Crews Addition, <br />from "0" (multi-fami Iy) to "C" (commercial). The Planning & <br />Zon i ng Comm i ss i on approved the change August I, 1967. Counc i 1- <br />men examined the plat accompanying the letter. Dr. Craddock <br />moved that the Counci I accept the recommendation of the Plann- <br />i ng & Zon i ng Comm i ss i on, and approve the change of zon i ng. I <br />Counci Iman Damon seconded the motion and on 1"01 I cal I, the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Pool, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a matter tabled from a previous meeting: <br />an up-grading in zoning of a large area of property adjacent <br />to Southwest Texas State Co liege, from "P- 2" to "0". I twas <br />brought out that the change was initiated by the Planning & <br />Zoning Commission, iince a change in the Master Plan of the <br />College does not include use of this land for expansion. <br />When the Public Hearing on the proposed change was held on <br />September 26, noone appeared to protest the change. Several <br />persons living in the area under consideration were present <br />to protest the change in zoning. Property-owners living in <br />adjacent areas also appeared to protest the change. Those <br />appearing desired a change to "R", residential. The matter <br />"'as discussed at length. . It was explained to the property- <br />owners that a request for change of zoning could be made to <br />the Planning & Zoning Commission at any time, upon payment <br />of a $25 fee. Dr. Craddock mo~ed that the Counci I reject the <br />Planning & Zoning's recommendation to change the zoning. <br />Mr. Damon seconded the motion, On 1"01 I cal" the follo~ing <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTA IN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Pool <br />Seru I" <br />Flores <br /> <br />The Mayor decla~ed the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a third communication from Plannihg & <br />Zoning: request for the Counci I's approval of a change in <br />zoning fro~ "R-I" (residential) to "M" (mixed) on Lot I, <br />Blk. 15, Rio Vista Terrace #3. No protest was received at <br />the Public Hearing held Oct. 31. Dr. Pool moved that the <br />Council approve the change in zoning. Dr. Craddock seconded <br />the motion and on roll cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, F lores', Poo I, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the fourth communication from Planning & <br />Zoning: request for the Counci I'. approval of a change in <br />zoning from "D"(multi-fami Iy) to "C" (commercial.} on Lot 8, <br />Blk. 3, Lindsey & Harvey Addition. .No protest was received <br />at the Public Hearing Oct.31.
