First for consideration of the Counci I was approval of a change of zon- ing on Lots 3 thru 6 & 10 thru 27 of the C.C. Crews Addition, from "0" (multi-fami Iy) to "C" (commercial). The Planning & Zon i ng Comm i ss i on approved the change August I, 1967. Counc i 1- men examined the plat accompanying the letter. Dr. Craddock moved that the Counci I accept the recommendation of the Plann- i ng & Zon i ng Comm i ss i on, and approve the change of zon i ng. I Counci Iman Damon seconded the motion and on 1"01 I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Pool, Serur None The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor introduced a matter tabled from a previous meeting: an up-grading in zoning of a large area of property adjacent to Southwest Texas State Co liege, from "P- 2" to "0". I twas brought out that the change was initiated by the Planning & Zoning Commission, iince a change in the Master Plan of the College does not include use of this land for expansion. When the Public Hearing on the proposed change was held on September 26, noone appeared to protest the change. Several persons living in the area under consideration were present to protest the change in zoning. Property-owners living in adjacent areas also appeared to protest the change. Those appearing desired a change to "R", residential. The matter "'as discussed at length. . It was explained to the property- owners that a request for change of zoning could be made to the Planning & Zoning Commission at any time, upon payment of a $25 fee. Dr. Craddock mo~ed that the Counci I reject the Planning & Zoning's recommendation to change the zoning. The Mayor introduced a third communication from Plannihg & Zoning: request for the Counci I's approval of a change in zoning fro~ "R-I" (residential) to "M" (mixed) on Lot I, Blk. 15, Rio Vista Terrace #3. No protest was received at the Public Hearing held Oct. 31. Dr. Pool moved that the Council approve the change in zoning. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and on roll cal I, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Damon, F lores', Poo I, Serur None I The Mayor declared the motion carried.
