," ,\fJ ;),U i AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL oF' THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION I. On the 30th day of November, 1967, at 2:00 p.m. o'clock in the Counci I Chamber of the City Hal I of the City of San Marcos, Texas, the City Counci I wi II hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of San Marcos, Texas of the following described property, to wit: 440 acres, more or less, metes and bounds description being attached herewith as "EXHIBIT A". I SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of San Marcos is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be publ ished once in a newspaper having general circulation in the city and in the above described territory, not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compi led as 970a, Vernon's Civi I Statutes). SECTION 3. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an impreative public necessity that the rule re- quiring ordinances be read at three several meetings be suspend- ed, and th i s ru lei s hereby suspended, and the ord i nance sha II take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
