<br />[} <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Councilmen Craddock, Darnon, ~, Flores, Serur and <br />Whittenberg ~~~ <br /> <br />NOES: NONE . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Ordinance is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO RJBLISH NOTICE OF THE CITY'S <br />INTENTION TO ISSUE REFUNDING BONDS; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, has outstanding the <br /> <br />following described warrants: <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS GENERAL RJRPOSE WARRANTS, SERIES 1967, <br />dated April 1, 1967, Numbers 1 to 200, inclusive, of the <br />denomination of $1,000 each, aggregating $200,000, bearing <br />4-1/2% interest per annum, and maturing on April 1st, $5,000 <br />in each of the years 1968 to 1970 inclusive, $10,000 in <br />each of the years 1971 and 1972, $15,000 in each of the years <br />1973 to 1979, inclusive, and $20,000 in each of the years <br />1980 to 1982, inclusive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and to the best <br /> <br />interest of said City to cancel the above described outstanding <br /> <br />warrants by the issuance of refunding bonds in lieu thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, it is proper and necessary that the City give notice <br />of its intention to issue said refunding bonds; <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized, <br />ordered and directed to do any and all things necessary and/or <br />convenient to have published the notice re~uired by Chapter 163, <br />Acts of the Regular Session of the Forty-second Texas Legislature, <br />as amended; that said notice shall specify the amount and purpose <br />of the bonds, the rate of interest, and maximum maturity of the <br />bonds, and said notice shall be published in a newspaper of general <br />circulation published in said City once each week for three con- <br /> <br />secutive weeks prior to the date of the passage of the ordinance <br /> <br />authorizing the issuance of the said refunding bonds, the date of <br /> <br />the first publication to be at least thirty (30) days prior to the <br /> <br />date fixed for the passage of said ordinance authorizing the issuance <br /> <br />i <br />L_ <br />
