On rol I cal I, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Pool, Serur <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that he had received a long distance call <br />from H.E. Butt, renewing his offer of financial assistance <br />to the City of San Marcos in bui Iding a mUl11i'ciilP>iiIll swimming <br />pool. Cost of a pool adequate for San Marcos' needs would <br />be about $75,000. Mr. Serur outl ined Mr. Butt's current <br />offer as fol lows: an outright gift of $10,000; a loan of one- <br />third of the balance at no interest; and assistance in fin- <br />ancing the remainder of the debt at a low interest rate. <br />It was Mr. Butt's opinion that the debt could be retired <br />through proceeds from the pool. He offered to send inform- <br />ation from other cities where this plan has been successful. <br />Dr. Craddock moved that Mr. Butt be informed that the City <br />of San Marcos is interested in his proposal, appreciates <br />his offer, and would like any information avai lable on the <br />plan as carried out in other cities.
