<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, february 12, 1968 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved adoption of the Ordinance annexing <br />two parcels of land on North Lyndon B. Johnson D~ive. <br />Mr. Damon seconded the motion and on roll cal" the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, <br />Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the annexation ordinance passed <br />on second reading. <br /> <br />J.T. Brown, Executive Director of the local Urban Renewal <br />Agency, came before the Counci I with a Resolution formally <br />approving undertaking of s~rve~s and plans for "EI Molino" <br />project. A copy of the Resolution is attached as a part <br />of the Minutes. Mr. Damon moved approtal~0 of the Reso- <br />lution. Mr. Korff seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, <br />Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />Gene Rourke, of Ranson & Co., fiscal agents for the City, <br />appeared before the Counci I to ask authorization for the <br />Mayor to set a date to receive bids on purchase of <br />$500,000 of the ~ity's General Obligation Bonds. The <br />matter was discussed. Mr. Damon moved that the Mayor be <br />authorized to establ ish Feb. 26, 1968 as a date to receive <br />bids for the sale of $500,000 of the City's General Obli- <br />gation Street Improvement Bonds. Dr. Craddock seconded the <br />motion and on roll call, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, <br />Whittenberg <br />NAY: None \ <br /> <br />The Mayor dec lared the ,moti on Carr i ed. <br /> <br />Mr. Rourke read aloud the text of the advertisement that <br />would be carried for the bonds. <br /> <br />The City Manager opened and read aloud two bids received on <br />the 2000 gpm pump and motor for the Water P I ant. Tend & Cotter <br />bid $7,251.00; Southwest Pump & Supply bid $4,418.00. Dr. Craddock <br />moved that the City Manager review the bids and award the bid <br />to the low bidder, if all is in order. Councilman Damon seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported to the Counci I that he had received a letter <br />from Dr. George Garza, native of San Marcos, now Superintendent <br />of the Oso School District in Corpus Christi. Dr. Garza request- <br />ed that the Council change the name of Fredericksburg Street to <br />"Peter Garza Street", in honor of his father and his brother. The <br />Garza fami Iy has lived at 127 South Fredericksburg Street for many <br />years. Peter Garza, jr. was a casualty of World War I I. The matter <br />was deferred for further study. <br />
