R-1l5 Farm Lot No. 25, Nelson River Property -~ On March 5, 1968, the L.P .A. Board of Commissioners met in Special Session with the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider Dr. Craddock's motion of February 26, 1968, regarding the subj ect proj ect and property. It was the unanimous decision of the L.P .A. Board to recommend that the subject area continue to be reserved for public park use. The decision was made after Mr. Travis Robertsi presentation, similar to the one made to the Council on or about February 26, 1966, and a lengthy discussion. The decision was based on several factors, some of the factors are, but not limited to: 1. A desire expressed by the Council at an Executive Session;Workshop Meeting on May 3, 1966. 2. The 1963 ordinance holding building permits in the river area, and enforcement of that ordinance in the past. 3. The Urban Renewal Referendum of September 8, 1962, that passed with an 6 to 1 majority with the "River/ Park" project as a prime issue. . 4. Again at the Bond Election of 1966, the Citizens of San Marcos elected to spend $200,000.00 for purchase of park lands along the river. ~' 'i \i\_', ?
