I I ~I ~/ RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REAFFIRMING ITS POSITION ON LAND TO BE REDEVELOPED FOR PUBLIC PARK USE IN THE JUAN VERAMENDI GENERAL NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL AREA, PROJECT TEX. R-90 (GN). WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desiring for public reuse, certain blighted, undeveloped, and underdeveloped land along the west bank of the San Marcos River in a general area bound on the South by Cheatham Street, and the North by the American Legion property at Water Street and Colorado Street in the City of San Marcos, County of Hays, State of Texas, proposed development of said land through a joint participa- tion project with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop- ment, formerly called the Housing and Home Finance Agency of the Uni- ted S ta te s of Amer ica,'" through a Title I Urban Renewa 1 Proj ec t, and; WHEREAS, pursuant to the Texas Urban Renewal Law, an Urban Renewal Referendum was called by the City Council of the City of San Marcos on August 4, 1962, and; WHEREAS, said Urban Renewal Referendum was held on September 8, 1962, and was approved by the voters, voting 703 for and 83 against, and; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos approved on December 11, 1962, an interim ordinance forbidding the issuance of building permits without approval of either the City Planning Commis- sion or the Governing Body of the City, or the failure to act thereon, and; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos approved on August 12, 1963, an ordinance setting out public use restrictions for land development and controls, and; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos approved a subsequent ordinance on May 23, 1966, reaffirming the Public Use Dis- trict as approved in said August 12, 1963, ordinance, and; WHEREAS, on September 27, 1966, the voters approved a Bond Issue, -1-
