<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />which included, but was not limited to, an amount of $200,000.00 for <br /> <br /> <br />use in purchasing certain lands for park use, and; <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 27, 1967, the City Council of the City of San <br /> <br /> <br />Marcos approved an ,ordinance approving the General Neighborhood Renewal <br /> <br /> <br />Plan for the Juan Veramendi Project Tex. R-90, as prepared by the Plan- <br /> <br /> <br />ning Firm of Morman, Mok and Green, Inc. of Houston and San Antonio <br /> <br /> <br />and presented by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of San Marcos, <br /> <br />and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Juan Veramendi General Neighborhood Renewal Plan, <br /> <br /> <br />Project Tex. R-90 (GN), Exhibit 1:3, proposes that all land bound on <br /> <br /> <br />the South by Cheatham Street, the East by theSan Marcos River, the <br /> <br /> <br />North by Colorado Street, and the West by Moon Drive and the proposed <br /> <br /> <br />C. M. Allan Parkway, be redeveloped as a public park reuse area, and; <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos filed a Survey and Planning Ap- <br /> <br /> <br />plication for funds for Project Tex. R-115 with the U. S. Department <br /> <br /> <br />of Housing and Urban Development on or about August 5, 1967, and; <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Survey and Planning Application ;or froject Tex. <br /> <br /> <br />R-115 sets out an estimated grant requirement for acquisition of pro- <br /> <br /> <br />ject lands, and; <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 16, 1968, the U. S. Department of Housing and <br /> <br /> <br />Urban Development approved a grant to the City of San Marcos for the <br /> <br /> <br />implementation of a Comprehensive Master Plan Study. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY COUNC IL OF TIlE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS: <br />1. That the City Council of the City of San Marcos restates its <br />approval of the preliminary plan concept in the Juan Veramendi <br />General Neighborhood Renewal Plan, and with particular accent <br />upon the portion of said plan that sets out tbe river front <br />park development, and; <br />2. That a financial study be undertaken to determine availability <br />of funds for purchase of such park lands, and; <br />3. That by these statements it is the expressed intention of the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
