II I I 1- regular meeting, august 12, 1968 page three Mr. Dannelley said he had had a number of phone calls from property-owners in Spring Lake Hills protesting development of a mobile-home park next to one of the best residential areas in the city. He said he felt the City should consider annexing the 10.947 acres in question so the development could be controlled. Herbert Nix, recognized by the Mayor, said property values (in Spring Lake Hills) would be seriously jeop- ardized by development of a trailer park there. He recommended that the City annex the land so it could be controlled. Mr. Serur said he believed there was a plan to annex that area within a reasonable length of time. Councilman Dannelley moved that the City start proceedings to annex 10.947 acres of land out of T.J. Chambers Survey #2, recorded in Vol. 208, pages 341-345, Hays County Deed Records. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Councilman Flores said he thought the Council should seek the advice of the City Attorney on this procedure, and also to find out how far along the owner of the acreage had gone with his plans. Mr. Dannelley said the City Manager, the City Attorney and he had discussed the matter late Friday afternoon, before Mr. Bean left on military leave. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: NAY: None Craddock, Dannell~y, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith. Zavesky AYE: The Mayor declared the motion carried.
